This interview was taken before the show nights, which have since ended.

The East Theatre Company is putting on a production of Anything Goes on March 9th thru March 12th. Before the sure-to-be amazing show, I interviewed some of the cast and crew members to learn a little more about the musical and what to look forward to.

Sofie Daniszewski’s (Cast) Answers:

What’s Anything Goes about?

It’s a multi-layered love triangle/rectangle about an ex-evangelist, Reno Sweeny (who now runs a nightclub), a broke Wall Street assistant, Billy Crocker, a debutante and American sweetheart, Hope Harcourt, and her fiancé, the English Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. There are a few other important characters, namely moonface Martin ( a “famous” gangster and his sidekick, Erma). Each of the characters end up on a Cruise to London, and whilst aboard the boat they learn a lot about their love for one another while providing a comedic and highly enticing story to the audience.

Which scene are you the most excited for?

I am most excited for Blow Gabriel, a song where Reno takes the boat to church, or not so much. It’s a super upbeat and fun number, and I know you’ll love it.

Any last words?

Come see the show! Me and my wonderful friends, along with the fantastic Mrs. Werner, Mrs. Boyd, and Rose, have worked so hard, and hope you love this show!!! Trust me, it’s truly a wild ride and a timeless story.

Kylie McCormick’s (Stage Crew) Answers:

What’s your favorite scene to move stuff for?

I like moving the tables for act 2 scene 1 since it’s pretty easy and the only thing we have to move for act 2.

Is there any difficult scene with a lot of moving parts?

Act 1 scene 4 and act 1 scene 6 are the most difficult since we have to move the big estate room which is really awkward and can get dangerous if we are not careful enough.
