If you’ve been in the library, or hallways, or perhaps the classroom, with earbuds in, chances are you’ve been approached by a five foot one brunette with this specific question: “What song are you listening to?”

Odd as it was, you obliged, wondering what kind of bizarre experiment this was. People actually do this in real life?

Now my plans have come to light - the subjects’ responses are being used to create a playlist for the student body of West Chester East. Though the sample size is small - (It’s super intimidating to just go up to strangers and pop the question. And so many AirPod wearers have just told me ‘Nothing’!) - it shows we have quite a diverse taste! But is it good taste? After collecting and listening to all these songs I will be judging them myself. Many thanks to each participant, willing or unwilling.

This song has such a cool vibe! I’m a bit biased because I love Spanish songs, but hear me out on this one.

This is pretty much top-tier dad rock.

Mae Muller and Neiked - Better Days

I have very little faith that this is the right song, as I did not get to ask for the artist. Otherwise, I feel like I’m shopping at H&M while listening to this.

An absolute classic! Whoever was listening to this song is clearly very cultured.

A bit of surprise. Always the most unsuspecting people listening to the Jackass soundtrack.

In conclusion:

I did not know what to expect! Though I have always been curious to know what’s going on underneath the AirPods, it is safe to say that after this experiment I will never ask again. Once again, thanks to each participant for their input; rock on.
